The Cité-Jardin is a concept theorized by the British urban planner Ebenezer Howard in 1898. It designates a group of individual or collective rental social housing with landscaping and gardens around the habitat. It includes, in most cases, collective facilities (school, nursery, shops, common house, even church). The most famous garden cities in the Paris region were built outside Paris between the First and Second World Wars on the initiative of Henri Sellier, Mayor of Suresnes.
